Game Vision Statement

Image
Hey there, Just here to talk about my game vision statement. The game genre i was going for is like a platform game. My gameplay was going to be where the player spawns on a platform, the player must then jump to the next platform and land on it, if they don't they instantly die from touching the lava. I was thinking of adding that the player will collect a coin or something to buy different types of maps or maybe some different types of outfits. For my games resources i was thinking of having 5-10 different levels all the levels will have a different themes to them, like one level could be a classroom and another could be a house where you start in the kitchen and you need to make it to the roof. This is a link to a similar game  The floor is lava . (Source Pinterest)

Unity Tutorial 3

Image
Hello there, Just here to talk about the unity tutorial that I just did. This week on the tutorial we had to create a clock. It was to display the current time. I started by first creating the game object as the guide told me to. The instructions then go onto creating the face of the clock, Basically for this part I had to get a cylinder and change the dimensions of it to flatten it out to make it look like the face of the clock. The third instruction was to create the clock periphery. You start by adding a cube and scaling to (0.5,0.2 , 1) - this makes it into a narrow flat long block. I then had to position the cube to place it on top of the face of the clock. After giving the cube a colour, you had to duplicate it around the clock to show the hours. Step four is creating the arms, possibly the most important thing to do. To create the arms we start by making a cube and scaling it to (0.3, 0.2, 2.5) this makes it narrow and longer than the hour cubes. I positioned it (0, 0.2, 0.75) ...

Games MDA

Image
Hello, Feels like forever since I have been here. I am here to talk about the readings I just read and game MDA. From my understanding of the reading i think the  MDA  is the way it connects by the game design, game development, game criticism and the really in depth research of the game. I think these elements when making a game because that how it's formed. A game when designed is made into a physical prototype with putting together the software interface with different controlled experiments. The reading goes onto to say that games are different to any other entertainment because the consumption is unpredictable. This came from the article  MDA Framework. by LeBlanc, Hunicke and Zabek . From reading this i'm not sure if I fully understand it. My other interests in this weeks reading came from  Designing to Promote Intentional Play. by Clint Hocking  and i watched a seven minute video from vimeo  Game development . (Source Pinterest)
