Hey there, Just here again just to give my thoughts on the bits that I have just read from. The first bit reading i read was  What is a game?  by  Wolfgang Kramer. I completely agree with him when he says that a game is a pleasure. I like the that he calls games like monopoly and scrabble rule-games because they are games with rules. Kramer goes on to say that all games need to have game rules, goals, the course of the game will change and competition which i totally agree with because without rules or any  the game would be unfair and boring. He says that there is a freedom in a game where the player is not forced to play the game.  The second reading i read was  Pulling the Plug: In defense og Non-Digital Teaching and Learning . The post starts off with saying that beginners should start off with non-electrical games because its efficient for the students learning and the teachers. Unity Tutorial 06

Hi all, Just here to talk about my weekly unity tutorials that I'm doing. I really enjoy doing them, I find that I learn a lot from these tutorials like they're is little shortcuts on unity that are quite handy to know. For this weeks tutorial it's all about making a small game, a platform game I think it's called. The first thing I had to do was create a new folder for the prototype 3. It asks you   to change the background to either a town or nature, I went for the nature background with the farmer character. I think I messed up the code somewhere because my player/character when you put the game into play mode the player/character just jumps into the air but flips over on his head, if that even makes sense to anyone..haha. But other than that everything else seemed to good and working, I got the background to repeat and it looks good. The only thing is that I cant see if the trigger 'Game Over' because my player is not working, so that is the only thing I...

Games Testing

Hey, Just here to give my thoughts on this weeks readings, this week is to do with game testing. This is relevant to me because next week we will all be showing our game designs to the class. The first reading was on criticism, whether it's the good, bad and the ugly like it says on the first reading. Reading one was about how to give someone criticism, why it's good to give someone criticism and does one take criticism. I think this was a goos reading because some people don't know how to take criticism and they take it as a negative thing.  Giving Criticism . In the second reading is all on testing games.
